Your work is remarkable. Your annual report should be too.

You bring the mission. We'll make donors believe in it.

book your intensive

Your annual report should connect the data, story, and soul of your work.

Supporters aren't reading cover to cover anymore. They're skimming, scanning, and clicking, which means your report has to tell a clear story even when it's read in pieces.

But when deadlines pile up and too many voices weigh in, the story you meant to tell gets buried under last-minute edits from people who never saw the whole picture.

Before you know it, the report feels assembled instead of intentional. You send it anyway.

And then... crickets.

Another year of funders and supporters who almost believed in you. The organizations doing the most important work shouldn't be the hardest to believe in.

There's a better way to do this.

Imagine sending your report and hearing back.

Your board chair forwards it to three people without being asked. A donor you haven't heard from in two years replies to say she didn't realize how much had changed. A foundation program officer you've been trying to get in front of finally reaches out.

That's not luck. That's just what happens when the story is there... visible in the data, brought to life by the design, clear enough that someone skimming headlines still gets it.

Your supporters are deciding whether to believe in you every time they open something from you. Your annual report is your biggest chance to make that answer easy.

It should do that work. Let's make sure it does.

That’s what the Annual Report Design Intensive is for.

We've worked with enough small teams to know, the problem is never the mission. It's finding a partner who gets it and has the bandwidth to do it right.

Most annual reports get opened once and never thought about again.

Yours should be the report that brings a lapsed donor back. The one that finally gets a corporate partner to team up, and gives your board something to share with their networks.

Your Annual Report Design Intensive timeline

A clear, collaborative process that moves your report from concept to completion, built around your team’s pace and readiness.

01

Strategy Session

We step back and look at your report as a whole: what it needs to communicate this year, what’s already working, and what’s getting watered down.

You leave with aligned priorities and a shared direction before design begins.

02

Strategic Copy Refinement

We review your draft for readability, cohesion, and narrative flow.

You receive a redlined document with edits and recommendations that strengthen the throughline before visuals are applied.

03

Design Creation

We translate strategy into visual direction and build early layouts (usually the cover + key spreads) to establish structure, pacing, and hierarchy.

Once approved, we move into full production.

04

Refinement & Finalization

We complete the report, polish visuals, and prepare final files for print and digital use.

Everything is delivered organized, editable, and ready to circulate.

05

Digital Experience & Delivery (Visibility System)

If selected, we translate the final report into an interactive format—landing page or animated PDF—optimized for sharing and year-round visibility.

06

For teams who want continued support after launch, we offer light, report-related coverage to help steward the work over time.

This may include:

+ Light, report-related design needs
+ Minor updates or refinements
+ Keeping details aligned over time

Offered selectively and scoped based on need.

Why work with us

Your annual report is only as strong as the thinking behind it.
You need a partner who only does this.
Annual reports aren’t a side project for us, they’re our art form. (And yes, we’re a little obsessed with making them amazing.)

That depth shows up in every decision we make for your report.

You need quality without the hand-holding.
No hand-offs to junior designers. No extra-long timelines. Just fully custom, on-brand design held to a standard that matches your mission.

(And yes, we're a little particular about it.) That care shows up in every file we deliver.
You need a report that keeps working.
We don’t treat your annual report as a finish line. It’s the foundation for what comes next.

It becomes a year-round storytelling system that keeps your mission in front of the right people long after the year closes.

Questions?
Get answers from seasoned annual report design experts.

Do we need an interactive annual report?

Not necessarily. Some organizations start with a digital-first PDF, others with a microsite. We’ll help you choose the format that fits your goals, audience, and internal capacity without compromising the experience donors have when they engage with your work.

What do you need from us?

Share your content (text, photos, data), brand materials, and any design inspiration you love.

Whether you have detailed brand guidelines or are starting fresh, we’ll guide you through the process during our strategic kickoff call.

How long does a project take?

Because nonprofit teams operate on different rhythms (board windows, director review cycles, and major events), we plan your project in phases around your team’s pace. Usually 6–12 weeks from kickoff to final delivery, with accelerated options available for teams ready to move quickly.

What if we need it faster?

We can accommodate accelerated schedules when your team has content and approvals ready. We just ask that expectations are clear up front so that pacing works for everyone.

How much input do we have in the design?

This is a true creative partnership. You’ll have strategic input throughout the process, with clear review points to refine and perfect the work.

We balance your expertise with our design direction to ensure every piece authentically represents your brand and goals.

What do “5 small-to-medium print/digital pieces” include?

Things like postcards, flyers, one-pagers, single-page brochures, booklets, or email/social graphics, created by repurposing your report content.

What’s included in the landing page or animated PDF?

The landing page is a short, scrollable page (in Webflow or Squarespace) that matches your current site’s design, built from your report content.

The animated PDF (built in Adobe InDesign) uses your report layout with added animations, transitions, and clickable navigation for easy sharing.

Do you provide content writing?

Most teams come to us with a draft. We review and refine your content for readibility, cohesion, and narrative strength before moving into design.

While we don’t typically write reports from scratch, we can provide expanded writing support when needed.

What happens when my Annual Report Design Intensive is over?

If the collaboration flowed and your materials finally felt right, there’s no need to stop there.

We have ways to keep the creativity going (and your materials looking this good all year).

Can you design my case for support, strategic plan, toolkit, or research report instead?

Yes. Annual reports are our specialty, but cases for support, strategic plans, and research reports are in our wheelhouse too. Same approach, same care.
