EarlySpark Institute
With intentional brand design, Izzi Early Education (Izzi) built a county-wide initiative from the ground up—making early education careers accessible, inspiring, and possible for all.
Project Summary
Developed as a San Mateo County initiative, Izzi launched a new Child Development Associate (CDA) program to grow the early childhood education workforce. The goal? Reach multilingual communities and offer a clear, supported pathway into teaching careers.
They needed a visual identity and campaign materials that felt professional, approachable, and purpose-driven. Our role? Craft an identity that helped participants see this not as “just a job,” but as the first step in a meaningful, long-term career.
Before
Izzi’s CDA program was brand new and designed to build a diverse pipeline of early educators across San Mateo County. But launching it effectively meant more than logistics. It needed a compelling brand that could clearly communicate the program’s value and meet its ambitious goals:
- Position the program as a credible, inspiring first step toward a lifelong teaching career
- Reach a diverse, multilingual audience—including nontraditional students and monolingual speakers
- Balance professionalism with approachability, avoiding childlike visuals or confusing messaging
- Create visual and verbal clarity around what the program offers and where it can lead
- Establish the CDA program as connected to Izzi, but distinct enough to stand on its own
In short: Our job was to build a brand system that made the program vision tangible, relevant, and ready to launch.
After
We built the EarlySpark Institute brand from scratch—giving Izzi’s new workforce program a bold, professional identity designed to inspire action and earn trust from day one.
Deliverables Included:
- Logo system, color palette, and typography
- Photography and visual identity guidelines
- Website design creative direction + development
- Print, social, and advertising campaign materials
Now, Izzi has a brand that speaks fluently to potential participants, community partners, and San Mateo County stakeholders—with every touchpoint designed to inspire confidence, action, and pride.
