Snapshot
Audience: Donors, community supporters, and partners
Challenge: A young organization needed a report that matched its values and growth
Solution: Story-driven print + interactive annual report
Result: An evergreen asset that anchors ongoing communications
Where They Started
Planet Women advances environmental solutions by uplifting women and cultural knowledge. As the organization approached its third year, it needed an annual report that reflected its growth while staying true to its organic, community-centered brand.
The report had to do more than summarize numbers. It needed to educate donors, highlight grassroots impact, and amplify the voices of women leading environmental change around the world.
Planet Women saw an opportunity to elevate their reporting so it could:
- Align more closely with their values and vision
- Showcase real stories from their community
- Strengthen donor engagement during year-end fundraising
What Was Getting in the Way
Planet Women’s communications were being managed by a small two-person team led by a Director of Marketing who was balancing strategy, campaign execution, and donor engagement. There wasn’t extra capacity to develop a publication that needed to function as both a fundraising piece and a long-term storytelling asset.
The organization had meaningful stories and impact, but their materials didn’t yet operate as a cohesive platform that could extend beyond a single campaign. They needed design that balanced authenticity with polish—something that felt rooted in their mission while inspiring donor confidence.
What We Built
We reimagined the annual report as an immersive storytelling piece designed for both print and digital interaction.
The final publication became a flipbook-style experience featuring video integration, organic textures, and warm typography inspired by nature and cultural connection. Authentic imagery and narrative pacing kept real voices at the center.
Deliverables included:
- Interactive flipbook report with embedded video
- Visual system inspired by nature and cultural storytelling
- Student and community narratives paired with imagery
- Typography and textures aligned with their brand ethos
The design was built not just for launch, but for longevity.
What Changed
The report evolved into a year-round communication asset instead of a one-time publication.
Planet Women now has a library of stories, visuals, and key messages that support fundraising, donor education, and advocacy across multiple campaigns. The report anchors their communications strategy and provides a consistent visual and narrative foundation moving forward.
What began as an annual recap became a long-term storytelling platform.
