Snapshot
Audience: Multilingual aspiring educators, community partners, and county stakeholders
Challenge: Launching a brand-new CDA program with cultural sensitivity
Solution: Complete brand system + launch-ready communications
Result: A professional, welcoming identity positioned for long-term workforce impact
Where They Started
Developed as a San Mateo County initiative, Izzi Early Education launched a new Child Development Associate (CDA) program to grow the early childhood education workforce. The program was designed to build a diverse pipeline of educators by offering a clear, supported pathway into teaching careers.
From the outset, we partnered closely with Sonya, Founder and Chief Brand & Marketing Strategist of Maevnco, and the Izzi team to translate their deep understanding of community needs into a brand that felt both professional and welcoming.
The goal was not simply to promote a training program. It was to help participants see this opportunity as the beginning of a meaningful, long-term career.
What Was Getting in the Way
Because the CDA program was entirely new, there was no existing identity to build on. The launch required more than marketing materials; it needed a brand that could carry credibility within county systems while remaining approachable for multilingual, nontraditional students.
The team needed design that could:
- Position the program as a credible first step toward a teaching career
- Reach diverse, multilingual communities
- Balance professionalism with warmth, avoiding visuals that felt childlike or confusing
- Clearly explain what the program offers and where it leads
- Establish a connection to Izzi while allowing the CDA program to stand on its own
Our priority was making the pathway visible and believable.
What We Built
Together, we co-created the EarlySpark Institute brand—a bold, professional identity designed to inspire action and earn trust from day one.
We developed a visual and verbal system that resonated with aspiring educators, community partners, and San Mateo County stakeholders. Every design decision reinforced accessibility, dignity, and long-term opportunity.
Deliverables included:
- Logo system, color palette, and typography
- Photography direction and visual identity guidelines
- Website creative direction and development
- Print, social, and advertising campaign materials
What Changed
EarlySpark Institute launched with a brand that feels both professional and accessible, giving participants confidence in the pathway ahead and stakeholders confidence in the program’s legitimacy.
The identity now supports outreach, recruitment, and long-term program growth. Rather than feeling like a short-term initiative, the CDA program stands as a recognizable and credible entry point into the early education workforce.
What began as a new program concept became a launch-ready brand system built to serve the community for years to come.
